Dennis E. Combs, 60, passed away on December 14, 2009. He was born in Parsons, WV on March 11, 1949 to the late William and Ollie Combs. Dennis retired from Anderson –DuBose in Solon after 25 years of service. He was a Veteran of Vietnam Conflict, having served with the US Army. Dennis was a lifetime member of Firestone VFW, Post 3383 and attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John; sister Judy Phares; and mother-in-law Mattie Williams. Survivors include his loving wife Pamela, of 17 years; daughter Desirae; son Derek (Michele); sisters Sarah (Larry) Wilson, Barbara (Dan) Steffee, and Diana (Ken) Stanko; brothers William (Sharon) Combs, Tony (Jean) Mullinex, and Frederick Combs; grandchildren Derek, Dylan, and Andrew; sister-in-law Kathy; and best friend Gary Magno. Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m., with Rev. Cecil Farmer officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
