Dennis L. Hopkins was born September 8, 1950 in Akron, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of the area. He entered into eternal rest on April 25, 2018 after a long battle with renal failure. Denny was a proud graduate of East High School, Class of 1968, attended Akron University and was the retired President/Owner of Equipment & Erectors, Inc.
He was most known for his love of family and his generosity. He enjoyed fishing trips with family and friends, bowling and softball leagues and was an avid golfer. Last but not least, he was a loyal Browns fan.
Denny was the beloved husband of Patricia A. Hopkins, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He will also be dearly missed by his children, Kelly (Chris) Kline and Michael (Amy) Hopkins; grandchildren, Lauren, Riley and Luke; brothers, Steve (Vicki) Hopkins, Dale (Debbie) Hopkins and Scott (Renee) Hopkins; brothers-in-law, Jim (Pat) Ayers and Father Dan Ayers; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Fran Hopkins and his beloved grandson, Tyler Vaughan.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A celebration of life service will begin at 7 pm, officiated by his brother-in-law, Father Dan Ayers.
