Dennis K. Coates, born January 10, 1955, passed away July 6, 2011 in the care of Hospice of Summa after a short battle with stomach cancer. A gentle, generous soul has passed from this life. Dennis loved fishing, the outdoors, his dog Duke, and his cat Babe. He did not have much in the way of material goods but he was always willing to help a friend. Preceded in death by his father, Ernest H. Coates. Lovingly remembered and sorely missed by his mother, Bonnie Coates; sister, Bonnie (William) Beal; sister, Robin (Mike) Shirey; brother, Ernie Coates, Jr.; four nieces, two nephews, many grand-nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held July 18, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Manchester Christian Church, 930 Nimisila Rd., Akron 44319. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Summa Pet Program.
