Dennis Walker Pirt Sr.

Dennis Walker Pirt Sr. died unexpectedly at Akron General Hospital following complications from heart surgery on August 4th, 2022 at the age of 74.
Dennis was born on September 28, 1947 in Vestaburg, PA to Rosella and John Pirt.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda {Pack} Pirt; children Dennis Pirt Jr., Christi (Scott) Emmert, Lori (Kevin) Dee and Melissa (James) Pirt; grandchildren Dennis III, Cory, Ariel, Kaci, Kyle, MacKenzie, Nathan, Cody & Aiden; great-grandchildren Ari'Yana, Alexx and Sawyer; sisters-in-law Carol Pirt, Virginia Pirt and Louella Pack; brothers-in-law Roger and Jim Pack; also is many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack, Bill and George, sisters Kelly and Bea, and grandson Skylar Brockwell.
Dennis served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. After leaving the service, he moved to Akron and began working at Akron Standard. Followed by Franklin Printing, proprietor of Take 1 Video until 2007, and retired from Printing Concepts in 2014.
Besides the great love he had for his family, he had two other loves! The first being all things sports, but especially his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Indians. The second was playing the Lottery. "Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You can't win if you don't play."
A funeral is scheduled for Thursday, August 11th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 at 6:00 p.m., with visitation prior, beginning at 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to celebrate Dennis' life. To leave a message for Dennis' family, please scroll below.
