Dennis V. Steely

Dennis V. Steely, 76, of Akron, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ just before midnight on May 5, 2022. He was born in Akron on September 22, 1945 to the late Virgil and Viola Steely. Denny proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return home, Denny earned a business degree from Kent State University. He spent his career at Goodyear Tire and Rubber, retiring after 37 1/2 years of service.
Denny loved sports. He coached baseball and bowled in his younger years and was an avid golfer until his health declined. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Steely.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Pamela Steely; daughters, Ellen Steely and Stephanie (Jeremy) Politz; son, Christopher Steely; other children who were a big part of Denny's life through Patricia Steely (deceased) are the Allens: David, Greg (Betty), Rebecca, and Cynthia; sister, Carol Steely; grandchildren, Josh (Becky) Steely of Idaho, Tyler (Maria) Steely of Columbus, OH; Brenden, Annelise, and Adelena Politz of Akron; great-grandchildren, Alex, Holly, Cameron, and Benji Steely and one baby on the way; many other relatives and friends.
Per Denny's wishes, cremation will take place and a private celebration of his life will take place at the convenience of his family.
