Denver Dallas "Jim" Sharp
Denver Dallas "Jim" Sharp, 88, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2009. Born in Calhoun County, WV, February 18, 1921, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon. He is survived by his wife Claudene and daughters Karen Sharp-Fisher, Joy(Ron) Dies, and Connie (James "Zippy") Schneider; Grandchildren Ron, Chris, Bethany, Amy, Jason, Brittany, and John; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister Merle Metheney. After marrying the love of his life, Denver came to Akron in 1941 to work at Goodyear Aircraft, retiring in 1976 with 32 years service. He was a hard worker, a loving husband and father, and celebrated 68 years of marriage to his soulmate, Claudene, on May 7, 2009. "Daddy" was our hero, living an exemplary Christian life. He was respected by all who knew him and leaves us precious memories of his sense of humor, his selftaught musical talent playing the harmonica and guitar, his ability to fix anything, and the crafting of unique "buckle" rings he created for his family. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Smith, the wonderful staff at Altercare and AseraCare who attended to his needs, and all those who kept our family in your prayers. A chapel service preceding interment will be held Saturday, December 19, at 11 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Road, Akron, with Pastor Harold Bradley officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the youth group's "Work and Witness Program" at the Trinity Nazarene Church, 2780 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, 44312.
