Denver Dale Walker
Denver Dale Walker , 74 of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2010. He was born to Clarence & Grace (Flory) Walker in Rochester Mills, PA. Denver was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where he had served in many capacities. He was a 50 year member of Adoniram-Joppa Lodge 517, where he obtained the KYCH and also was a volunteer driver for the All American Soap Box Derby. In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by his brother, Jolly V. Walker; brother- in-law, Robert E. Lowman, Sr.; in-laws, Arch & Elsie (Smith) Lockard. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gladys (Lockard) Walker; daughters, Gloria (George) Tilden and Beverly (Tim) Carlson; grandson, Keith Dale Carlson; brother, Zane (Elaine) Walker; sister-in-law, Rose Lowman; brother-in-law, Dennis (Helen) Lockard and nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday from 1-4 & 6-9 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron with the Knights Templar service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 pm. with Deacon Ernie P. Kemppel IV officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Special thanks to Odyssey Hospice and Ridgewood Health Care Center.
