Denzel H. Collins, 79, of Suffield, passed away November 22, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1931 in Richwood, WV to the late Ora E. & Sadie A. (Hanna) Collins. Denzel was a wonderful, loving and supportive husband and father. He loved the Lord and was a quiet but well respected man. Denzel enjoyed anything outdoors such as hunting, fishing and camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Collins. He is survived by his wife, Alice M. Collins; daughters, Diana Robinson (Bill) and Denise A. Mellinger (Mike); son, David Collins (Patty); grandchildren, William and Christina Robinson, Melissa and Danielle Mellinger, and Andy (Melinda) and Joey (Julia) Hodovan; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene Hassell and Elaine Pipper (Ken); brothers, Edgel (Eloise), Virgil (Hilda), Leo (Michel), Marlin (Janet) and Paul. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lynn Warner officiating.
