Desireé Terese Brewer-Fissella known to everyone as “Cookie” “Cook” or “Dez”, went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024 in the comfort of her home. Desireé was married to her devoted husband, Monty Fissella on August 24, 1997. With this union they had 3 children: Montasia(deceased), DaMonte and Montia. Desireé worked in hospitality, as a manager, for over 20 years before becoming ill. She attended Jerusalem Baptist church as a child.
The sorrow of “Cook’s” passing will fade, but the memories, laughter, firmness, family life and her smile will remain in our hearts for all of those who loved her; which was everybody who came on contact with her. Cookie was a stick of dynamite exploding with love, compassion and family togetherness. “I betcha don’t” was her favorite saying, followed by a laugh.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, auntie, cousin and grandmother. Her favorite holiday was “Christmas”. She would always start her shopping in January and be done by August. She always found time to invite family over to have a good time, or plan some type of family outing but you better make sure you bring them kids. Cookie loved playing her music and putting on her famous “dance show”. Those that know, know! Cook always had a nickname for every kid and everybody she knew. Cook was always there when she was needed and she didn’t discriminate, if she knew you had a need she would make sure it happened.
She is preceded in death by parents: Louise and Willie Brewer Sr., Grandparents: Beauty Love, Emmitt Love, Great-Grand Parent: Madea Henson, Brothers: Willie H. Brewer Jr., James Brewer Sr., Leo Hardison and Shawn Bledsoe. Daughter: Montasia Fissella, Granddaughter: Kamyla Fissella.
