Devika M. Sumitra

Devika Margaret Sumitra, age 76 of Akron, Ohio passed away on Thursday April 28, 2022. Mrs Sumitra was born on Nov 21, 1945 in Udupi India to the late Mr Nelson and Mrs Sumathi Clare.
Survivors include: One son James Sumitra (Lindsey); brothers Mohan Clare (Cici), Richmond Clare (Meena), and Sunil Clare; sisters Irene Ruskin, Trudy Rasalam (Dr Ajit), Vinitha Soans (Ricky), Asha Soans (Osmond), and Seema Furtado (Diwakar); and grand children Abigail Sumitra, and Joshua James (JJ) Sumitra.
Mrs Sumitra was preceded in death by husband Joshua Sumitra; parents Nelson and Sumathi Clare; brothers Rathnakar Clare and Naveen Clare; brother in-law D.W Ruskin; sister in-law Bridgette Clare; and nephew Caleb Clare.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 6th, 2022 between 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7th 2022 at 10am with Pastor David Bogue officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
