Dewey Monroe Rowles

Dewey Monroe Rowles, 68, of Akron, passed away on July 16, 2016. He was born in Spencer, West Virginia on July 29, 1947 to the late Elmer and Opal (Greathouse) Rowles. Dewey was a U.S. Army veteran and earned a Merit of Honor Medal for his service in Vietnam. He was employed for many years at Valley Rubber Mixing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Ronnie. He will be deeply missed by his loving companion of 35 years, Jane Simcox; daughter, Tanya (William) Grabon; grandchildren, Brittani - 23, Nicklas - 20, Shelby - 15; sisters, Donna (Jeff) Serdinak, Carol (Jim) Rudman, and Tanya (Dale) McGough; niece, Tabitha Rowles; nephews, Ben and Kevin McGough; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 10:30-11:30 followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
