Diane L. Matthews

Diane L. Matthews, age 77, of Tallmadge, passed away on December 17, 2024 at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center. She was born on September 28, 1947 to the late Gail and Betty Walter in Salem, Ohio. 

Diane worked as a Group Home Manager for at-risk youth for many years before her retirement. 

She loved reading, spending time with her grandchildren and cooking. Her family remembers her for being completely selfless, she would help anyone who needed it, no matter her own situation. She found happiness in helping others succeed. Diane was the glue for her family and she will be dearly missed and cherished forever. 

Diane is survived by her loving son, Keith (Amanda) Matthews; grandchildren, Maiya and Maverick Matthews; siblings, Cheryl Coy, Ken Walter and Greg Walter; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sally Doss and Nancy Donnelly.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305) on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 1pm until the time of her Memorial Service at 3pm. Pastor Matt Stull will be officiating.
