Diane M. Matthews (Halusco), 78, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on August 26, 2021. Diane was a graduate of Garfield High School and the University of Akron. She served as a teacher with the Akron Summit Community Action Head Start Program, at the Five Points location, for many years, influencing the lives of hundreds of our area youth.
Diane is survived by her children, Todd Matthews, Alicia (John) Clark and Jonathan Matthews, grandson Jacob (Jodie) Clark, great grandson Hudson Clark and her dear cousin and friend Mary Gladys (Dick) DeBerry. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice Ondreyka, step-father Milo Ondreyka, and her ex-husband Richard Matthews.
A private family service has already been held. If you wish to honor Diane's life, you may make a donation in her memory to Akron Summit Community Action Head Start, 55 East Mill Street, Akron, Ohio 44309 or to a humane organization of your choice.
