Dolar Vaishnav

Dolar was born on October 31st, 1942, in Junagadh in the state of Gujarat in India. He was in Rajkot (Gujarat) until 1953. From 1953 to 1957, he was in Porbandar (Gujarat). He was in Bhuj (Gujarat) from 1957 to 1959. completed his SSC board at Bhuj in 1957. He did his college at M. S. University, Vadodara (Gujarat), and became Mechanical Engineer. He worked for Tata Motors at Jamshedpur (Tatanagar) in the state of Bihar (now, Jharkhand) from 1964 to 1967.

He migrated to U.S.A. in 1967. He completed his Master's in Engineering at Purdue University, Indiana, in 15 months. He was a very bright and distinctive student throughout his academic career.

He then spent rest of his life in Ohio. Majority of his working years were with Firestone at Akron, Ohio.

He was a highly intellectual person, avid reader, runner, biker, and overall, very active and athletic guy. Even after being diagnosed with Parkinson's, he always made sure he stayed active and moving. He was a foodie, loved to try different cuisines.

Dolar passed away peacefully at Akron City Hospital on May 3rd, 2024. He was preceded by his parents Harshadbhai and Jansutaben Vaishnav, eldest brother, Sudhir Vaishnav (Pune, India), his eldest sister, Sudha Jhala (Junagadh) and brother-in-law, Sanat Jhala (Bharuch), his younger sister Panna Vasavada (Rajkot).

Dolar is survived by his sister-in-law Kaumudi Vaishnav (Pune), his brother-in-law Dr. Munindra Vasavada (Gandhinagar), younger brother Ullas Vaishnav and his wife Kirna Vaishnav (Amdavad), 7 nieces and nephews (Zhankhna, Tarang, Shital, Yash, Ami, Saumi, and Krunal), and 9 great nieces and nephews (Shubha, Raj, Sia, Shreya, Dhanvi, Dwiti, Sanvi, Hansvi, and Aarav).

Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 North Canton Road, Akron, OH 44305) on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10-11am.
