Dolores T Keener, 78, of Akron, sadly passed away in the comfort of her home, on December 30, 2021 not due to Covid which she had and beat in August. She was born on June 16, 1943 the daughter of the late Raymond and Sarah Fallon. She graduated in 1961 from St. Mary's High School. Dolores worked at May Brothers for many years and then retired from Apples Grocery Store after many years of dedicated service. After retirement they traveled in their RV spending winters in Florida. She was a woman of great faith and was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. With faith, love and kindness she was a lay minister and helped many patients at Summa Hospital for over 10 years along with Father Dismas Byarugaba. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary #4664 and UFCW #880. She enjoyed working in her beautiful flower garden and also working on jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Mary Walton and David Fallon.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Chuck Keener; daughters Gina (Jack) Bowles, Becky (Mark) Musarra and Renee (Spencer) Lazar; grandchildren Casey Bowles, Chuck Graise, Jack Bowles, Jessica Cool, and Danelle Stover; great-grandchildren Kaylee Bowles, Mackenzie Bowles, Payton Budka, Trip Cool, Cash Cool and one on the way; siblings Charles Fallon, Michael (Linda) Fallon, Patricia (Kevin) Kackley and John Fallon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron).
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Matthew Church (2580 Berne St., Akron) with Fr. Michael Williamson presiding.
Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
