Don W. Alberson Sr.

Don W. Alberson Sr., 77, of Akron, passed away on November 30, 2023. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 7, 1946 to the late Vernon and Ethel Alberson.
Don's family moved to Galveston, Texas in his youth. That is where he met Evelyn Bientz, the love of his life. He was "Bear" and she was "Muffin". They moved to Ohio, married in 1964, and started their family. They were happily married until Evelyn passed away in 2008.
Don spent his career as a cable technician with Morse Controls.
He was passionate about American history, particularly the Civil War. He and Evelyn enjoyed traveling to historic battlefields and homesteads. He was proud of the photographs he took at these sites, especially his series of family photos near the same cannon at Gettysburg over the years. They also loved trips to Amish Country, Put-in-Bay, and historic lighthouses.
Don also loved airplanes. One of his fondest memories was a recent trip to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum with all of his sons.
Don's greatest love was his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn; daughter, Samantha; and brother, Vernon.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Don (Karen) Alberson Jr., Duane (Susan) Alberson, Daniel Alberson, Christopher Alberson, and Kimberly (Steffaunis) Kostenko; grandchildren, Zack, Hannah, Sarah, Jacob (Kristy), Matthew, and Christopher.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Brimfield Methodist Church, 1235 Tallmadge Rd., Brimfield, Ohio. A reception will follow the service.
