Don D. Morton "Ding", 93, went home to be with the Lord on December 11, 2021. Born in Elkins, WV to Vernon and Helen (Jordan) Morton, he resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his adult life. Don was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during World War II, and was a faithful member of the First Apostolic Church of Tallmadge for over 50 years. He loved spending time with his family, grandkids, great grandkids and his many friends, especially his best friends Melvin (Sandy) Liston, Bob (Cindy) Queen, Roger (Judy) Small and Millie Kerlee. He greatly enjoyed going to church, golfing, hunting, and watching TV shows such as Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., and M*A*S*H. He was also a loyal fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte; daughter, Tanna Ritchie; and granddaughter, Jennifer Poling. He will be sadly missed by his son, Mark (Treena) Morton; son-in-law, Rick Ritchie; grandchildren, Brittany (Mark) Garber, Grace Ritchie, Mark Ritchie, Madeline Morton, Megan Morton, Malorie Morton; great grandchildren Preston, Charlotte, Penelope, and Colette.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, December 20, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the First Apostolic Church of Tallmadge, 199 South Ave. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the church with Pastor Ken Bulgrin officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday, December 21 at 11 a.m. at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 27880 State Route 7, Marietta, OH. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Don's name to the First Apostolic Church of Tallmadge.
