Don T. Gowan, 85, of Akron, passed away March 11, 2012. He was born on May 17, 1926. Don served our country in the Navy. He retired from Bill Gauers Tool and Die. Don was a longtime standing member of Alcohol Anonymous.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Walker and grand-daughter, Sara Damitio.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rita; son, Gregory (Betty); daughters, Donna (Mike) Lute, Elaine (John) Laney, Lorraine (Gerry) Allen; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Dan (Joyce) Walker; 3 nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care Center for their wonderful care of Don.
A private family service will be held on March 16 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with burial following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care Center.
