Dona A. Hymes

Dona A. Hymes (nee Roepke), age 72, lifelong resident of Akron, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at her home. She was born on September 5, 1941 to the late Howard and Maxine Roepke. Dona retired from McIntyre Chevrolet and worked for other area dealerships as a title clerk. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting beautiful blankets for her grandchildren.

Dona is survived by her Husband of 42 years, Kenneth R. Hymes, Children; Kim (Jim) Bantz of Hartford City, Indiana, Cynthia Rich, Kenneth Randall Hymes and Michael Brian Hymes of Akron, 9 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, Brothers; Don (Nancy) Roepke, Jerry (Kathy) Roepke and Ronald Roepke, Sister, Rosalyn (Eugene) Movsesian, Sister-In-Law, Imogene Roepke, and dear Friend, Bobbie Wayne. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Son, Richard Allen Hymes, Brother, William Roepke, Sisters, Bonnie Roepke and Sandra Greathouse.

Friends may call 4-7 pm on Monday, September 30, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the funeral home with Dr. E. Higgins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 E. Market St, Akron, OH 44308.
