Donald James Dudones, "Donny", age 53 of Akron, Ohio, died on January 31, 2023 after a brief illness.
He was born on August 24, 1969 in Akron the son of Richard (Janine) Dudones Sr of Uniontown and Joyce Ellen (nee Giacobone) (Rick) Jacobs of Coventry.
Donny was proud to serve his country and was honorably discharged from the US Army as a combat veteran during the Gulf War.
He was a dedicated worker for the City of Akron in the domestic service department, alongside his brother, Rich, for 22 years. He loved sports, especially the Cleveland sports teams and jamming to 80s music. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and step-parents, other survivors include his loving wife, the former Kelly Irwin, whom he married on June 5, 2010; his children, Jacob Dudones and Breanna (Virgil) Bailey; his grandchildren, Bentley, Lillyanna, Kaine and Vince; and his wife's parents, Larry and Michelle (nee Koelble) Irwin.
His brothers also survive, Richard (Marti) Dudones Jr, John (Heather) Dudones and Andrew (Ashley) Dudones; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that mourn his loss.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 4:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio, where Pastor David Dickson will celebrate Donald's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 2:30 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

He will be buried at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio, at a later date.
