Donald E. Madden, 75, died peacefully at home on December 5, 2010 with his family by his side after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his only son, Franklin Eugene. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda. Aside from his wife, Don is survived by his daughters, Sherida (Daniel) Pohl, Darra (William) Lanning, Janet (Gary) Cline, and Mary Briggs. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Don was a proud lifetime member of the VFW Post 8487. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Summa Hospice, 444 N. Main St, Akron, OH 44310 or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-6 followed by a 6 p.m. funeral service with Rev. Duane Ray officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Cremation will follow the service.
