Donald G. Mellott
Donald G. Mellott, 74, went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2012. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and enjoyed tinkering around with his tools. Don retired from Akron Equipment. Don was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eula Mellott. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Gaynel; children, David (Connie) Tenney of Akron, Richard (Julie) Tenney of Akron, and Carl (Debbie) Tenney of Iowa; sister, Dorothy Schwamberger of Mansfield; niece, Diane Jeffrey of Mansfield and Nikki; brother, Duane Mellott of Cambridge; 12 grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; and cousin, Karen (Harmon) Brooks of Medina. A visitation will be held Monday, February 27, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Tuesday, February 28, at 8:45 am with Pastor Carl Tenney officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
