Donald Edward "Bud" Gunnels

Donald Edward "Bud" Gunnels, 90, of Akron, passed away on June 30, 2024. He was born in Livingston, TN on February 7, 1934 to the late C.B. and Ora {Rains} Gunnels.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, Gale; daughters Lisa (Mike) White and Trisa Struckman; step-son, Bill Guest; grandchildren Brittany (T.J.) Knapp, Chad (Tiffany) White, Courtney Struckman, Paige Guest, Natalie Guest; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings Verta Franklin and Gary (Rosemary) Gunnels.
Bud spent 40 years in the rubber industry as a tire mold inspector, retiring from Quality Mold in 1995. He was a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church. Bud was an avid pool player, and in his free time, he enjoyed family trips to Florida, watching football and basketball, and cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers.
A graveside committal service with well-deserved military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Marlboro Cemetery, 13419 Marlboro Ave. NE Marlboro, Ohio 44601.
