Donald Henry Wirth
Donald Henry Wirth "Dear", born February 8, 1944, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 30, 2009, and woke up in Heaven. He was a life long resident of the Akron area, graduating from Garfield High School, then joining the Army. Donald retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber/Motor Wheel after 40 years of service. He married the love of his life, Carole, in 1970. Together they raised their family, thoroughly enjoying their vacations to Florida, with no itinerary except to come back! Donald was an easygoing man who enjoyed cars, Star Trek, Star Gate, playing the lottery, scratchoffs, and his computer. He will be forever remembered for his witty comebacks, huge bowls of ice cream, chunks of chocolate cake, and tremendous love of Janis Joplin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bay Fredrick and Mary Catherine Wirth. He leaves to cherish his memories: brother, Fredrick Bay (Linda) of Burke, VA; devoted wife of 38 years, Carole (Chisler); sons, Robert (Sandra), Fabian I (Violet), and Ralph Weatherholt, Donald Wirth II, and Daddy's little girl, daughter, Catherine Davis; grandchildren, Christie (Steve) Martin, Jason Rigsby, Fabian Weatherholt II, Leanne (Brian) Sexton, Christopher Weatherholt, Kevin Davis, Joshua Weatherholt, Kara Davis, Kennedy Davis, Isual Garcia, Jordan Hoffman, and Breanna Wirth; great-grandchildren, Rachel Ray, Kaitlyn Weatherholt, and Aiden Weatherholt; and beloved furry friends, Cookie and Garfield. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you the day God took you home. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Ralph Huff VFW Post 1062.
