Donald J. Wilhelm

Donald J. Wilhelm, age 72 of Ravenna, Ohio, died on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 4:00 AM at Akron City Hospital.
He was born on September 19, 1943 in Kingwood, WV, the son of the late Donald and Nellie Kelly Wilhelm.
Don was a retired diesel mechanic. He was a member of the NRA and the Ohio Buckeye State Sheriff. Mr. Wilhelm liked to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sheila Jefferson, whom he married on January 29, 1966; his children, Kandias Cogar, Jodie (Michael) Forester, and Sarah Wilhelm; five grandchildren, Charles "Chuck" (Portia) Baker, Kaylan Wilhelm, Devon Wilhelm, Ian Forester, and Breanna Wilhelm; and three great-grandchildren, Jaida, Cash, and Darius; and his siblings, Zella (Everett) Hartman and Floyd (Louise) Wilhelm; and many nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Daniel "Dan" Fink.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, where family and friends may visit from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.
