Donald W. Newman

Donald W. Newman, 71, of Akron, formerly of Vermilion, passed away on February 9, 2018. He was born in Uniontown, PA on December 7, 1946.
Don proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from Ohio Operating Engineers Local 18. He loved his family and his three dogs, Mickey, Minnie, and Daffy.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald R. and Thelma L. Newman. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Eva Newman; daughter, Kelly (Tom) Bristow of Vermilion, OH; son, Donald (Samantha) Newman of Littleton, CO; sister, Debbie Runyon (Lester Cogar) of Mogadore, OH; granddaughters, Michayla and Riley; grandsons, Wolfgang and Rease; mother-in-law, Thelma Nunez; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Portage Animal Protective League, 8122 Infirmary Rd., Ravenna, OH 44266.
