TOGETHER AGAIN
Donald George Nicodemus passed away in his sleep on August 22, 2023 at 86 years of age. He was born on October 7, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to Donald and Mildred Nicodemus.
He graduated from East High School in 1954. He helped raise 4 boys while working at Goodyear for eleven years, while finishing his Bachelor's degree at Kent State University, and then teaching for 32 years (31 at Cuyahoga Falls High School).
Donald also completed 2 Master's degrees in education and sociology at Kent State University, followed his boys throughout their sporting careers, achieved "Grand Life Master" as a Bridge player and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football fan. "Go Bucks!!" He joined the Tallmadge United Methodist Church in early life and attended there for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Jeanette, parents Donald and Mildred, sisters Barbara (Eddie) Grayshock and Marilyn (Joe) Marton, brother James and great-grandson Joshua Knafel.
He is survived by his sons Gerald Gregory (Beverly) of Tucson, Jeffrey Thomas (Elsie) of Munroe Falls, George Allen and Bradley Eric of Tallmadge; grandchildren Laura Axline (Bill), Mary Grzegorek (Erin), Megan Moore (Brian), Jannelle Giacomo (Joel), Eric Bettinger, Joel Rondinella, Christopher (Briana), Jennifer Knafel (Andrew), Michael, Johanna (Casey), and Mary Pat; brothers Eric (Helen) and Rick (Eva); sister Pam; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A special mention goes to his best friend Tony Licata.
Friends and family are invited to visit at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 6 at the Tallmadge United Methodist Church at 207 N. Munroe Rd., Tallmadge, OH 44278, a Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. and luncheon at noon. We will have a graveside service for close friends and family at a later time.
