Donald P. Bostaph
Donald P. Bostaph, 89, of Springfield Twp., passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Ridgewood Hospice Care Center into the arms of God and his family. He was born in Sistersville, WV on September 11, 1921 to the late Leo A and Sina B. (Baker) Bostaph. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Zofchak) Bostaph; 6 brothers and 5 sisters; and 1 great-grandson. Donald served in the Armed Forces during World War II along with his 6 brothers. He was a member of the D.A.V., and the Knights of Columbus #4664. Donald was a member of St. Matthew Parish and served as an usher. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. with 39 years of service. Donald is survived by his devoted 4 daughters, Mary Lou (Kenny) Vickers, Linda (Mickey) Hugg, Joann Reynolds, and Donna P. Bostaph; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and his good buddy, Pat, his dog. Dad's favorite saying was "God Bless You". We want to say "God Bless you Dad". You are not gone because you are always in our hearts. Calling hours will be held Thursday, February 10, from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral mass will be held Friday, February 11, at 11 am at St. Matthew Church. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridgewood Hospice Care Center.
