Donald R. Patterson

Donald R. Patterson, 69, of Mogadore, died on January 4, 2005. He was born February 16, 1935 in Pittstan, Pennsylvania to the late Truman & Mabel (Miller) Patterson. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957 being honorably discharged as a Sergeant. Donald was a member of Margaret Park Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon, elder, usher, was on the budget/finance committee and was their all around handy man. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend to all he encountered. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lynn E. (Barr) Patterson and his sister, Gert. L. Catalona. He is survived by his daughter, Susan L. Fletcher of Akron; son, Ted M. Patterson of Mogadore; grandchildren, B.J. (Jennifer), Jen (Scott) and Marcus; great-grandchildren, Jace and Blake; sisters, Dee (Doug) Fetterman of Doylestown and Thelma (Bob) Edwards of Akron; father-in-law, Emery Barr; numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 - 11 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME where funeral services will begin Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Hostutler officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
