Donald J. Pettit, "Don", age 84 of Akron, Ohio, died on January 24, 2019 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home.
He was born on October 15, 1934 in Yager, West Virginia, the son of the late Asa Pettit and Hazel (nee Longhorn) Pettit Ripplinger.
Don retired from General Tire as a tire builder. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, and visiting with his older kin folk.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherry (Bob) Moskos; one granddaughter, Christie; his nephews and nieces, Tim (Debbie) Riley, Steve (Debbie) Riley, Patrick (Deidre) Riley, and Kelly Dugan.
Other than his parents, Don was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce; his sister, June Riley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Don will be laid to rest in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron, Ohio.
