Donald N. Porter

Donald N. Porter, age 71 of Uniontown passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021. A lifelong resident of Akron, Don was born to the late Norman and Ethel {Rohrer} Porter.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Lenny Porter.

Don will be remembered fondly by his children Jim (Deanna) Porter, Donielle Porter and Robert (Lori) Porter; grandchildren Ashley Porter, Rikki Boswell, Brandon Porter, Tyler Porter, Gabby Bolanz, Zachary Rennick and Scotty Puffer; great-grandchildren Roselyn Ann Boswell and Addison Rennick; sister Vivian Griffith.

Don was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and graduated from East High School. He ran his family business, International Welding and Radiator before retiring from Akron Public Schools, where he worked as a custodian. Don spent many years taking fishing trips to Canada. He had a heck of a sweet tooth, and enjoyed the company of Oscar the parrot, and cats Smokey, Oliver, Katniss and Piper.
