Donald R. Sherman
Donald R. Sherman, 69, of Akron, passed away December 20, 2005 at his residence. He was born March 3, 1936 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Ray & Mae Sherman and later served in the U.S. Army. Donald was a sports fanatic with an undying devotion to the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed playing Euchre with his friends at the club. Donald had worked at Roadway Express and Standard Oil as a Computer Programmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Sally A. (Geul). He is survived by his daughter, Liz (Steve) Hickman; sons Tim (Amy) Geul and Donald R. Sherman II; grandchildren, Sherry, CaDeenia, Tia, Barbara, Emily, Andrea, Daniel, Katie and Nicky; great-grandchild, Shaun; sister, Joyce (George) Copen. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Michael Thomas officiating.
