Donald W. Lampe, 80, of Akron, passed away August 19, 2013. He was born in Akron on August 31, 1932 to the late Marcellus and Cora Lampe. Don was an avid fisherman and hunter, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Burgoon; brothers, Richard, Jim, Tom; sisters, Marylou and Martha.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Stella; sons, John (Laurie), Robert (Brenda), Donald, David (Mary) Tom (Tom Zimmerman); daughter, Janet (Chuck) Burgoon; son-in-law, James Burgoon; sister, Marion Heinrich; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 24 with Fr. Gordon Yahner officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Akron General Hospice Center.
