Donna M. Chancey

Donna M. Chancey, age 96, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 15, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born on May 20, 1927 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Lewis and Clara B. (Weaver) Learn. She was a member of Forest Hill Community Church for 88 years, where she was a Deaconess ,taught Sunday School and served as director of Vacation Bible School for many years. She was active in the PTA and worked for the Summit County Board of Elections at the polling sites for 45 years.
In addition to her parents; Donna was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Fred" Chancey; siblings Leonard (Dorothy) Learn, Virginia (Robert) Kenney, Kenneth (Jane) Learn, Katherine (Eric) Edworthy, Robert Learn; sons-in-law Ben King and Dennis Jones. She is survived by her children Donna King, Tim (Mary Rita) Chancey, Jack Chancey, Kelleen Jones; grandchildren Daniel King, Joshua (Sara) Chancey, Todd (Amanda) King and Zak (Kayla Sellers) Chancey; great-grandchildren Chazz Chancey, Phoenix King, Rilyn Chancey, Aubree Chancey, Hudson King, Asher King and Lennon Chancey; and sister-in-law Betty Learn.
Family and friends may call Monday April 22 from 5:00- 7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin Monday April 22, at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Clyde Votaw officiating. Final resting place is Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Hill Community Christian Church.
