Donna Bernadine (Peck) Kalman
Donna Kalman, 75, went home to be with her Lord on March 26, 2009. She was a lifelong resident of Akron and retired from BF Goodrich as an executive secretary. Donna was one of a kind. She was a loving, caring, loyal mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was definitely "The Boss" and she would let you know when her office was open for business and when it was closed. Her number one priority in life was her family. She was there for anyone who needed her and could be depended on for good advice. She loved all her grandchildren and wanted them to enjoy their childhoods camping, horseback riding, and taking music lessons. She provided simple things for them to enjoy, such as the wading pool and planting cherry tomatoes, which one of her grandsons enjoyed eating like candy. She was a strong, determined woman who fought cancer three times and won. She fought lung cancer and emphysema for twelve long years and rebounded time after time, although the disease won in the end. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. She leaves her loving companion of 34 years, Lou Snyder; children, Louis "Chip" Kalman II, Kimberly Kalman, and Kenneth (Theresa) Kalman; sisters, Ruby (Bobby) Williams and Shirley Mollohan; brother, Harry (Peach) Peck, Jr.; brother-in-law, Bob Graham; grandchildren, Carina (Ted), Lisa (Chris), Bryon, Ashley, Nicholas, and Todd; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Breanna, Joel, Ian, Aiden, and Jaeden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Evelyn Peck and sisters, Anne Graham and Jean (Carl) Spicer. Special thanks to Hospice and VNS for all they did. Per Donna's wishes, cremation will take place and private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
