Donna Ruth Rath

Donna Rath (Heltsley), age 77, following a long illness, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. 

A lifelong resident of Akron, OH, Donna attended Garfield High School (class of ’65) and then worked at Goodyear before marrying her “Charlie” in 1971 and raising two children. She later worked as a receptionist at The Chapel and will be remembered for her love of baking and sharing her cookies with others. Donna loved spending time with her family and had many friends locally and in Mexico Beach, Florida where she often traveled. Donna will be remembered for her strong faith, gentle spirit, and caring heart. 

Preceded in death by her parents Donald and Vera Heltsley, Donna is survived by her loving husband Chuck of 53 years, daughter Jennifer (Jason) Bechtel, son Tim (Laura) Rath, and grandchildren Ben (Lindsey), Jenna, Brian, JJ, Sam, and Tom. 

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday February 5 beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at The Chapel in Akron.
