Donna Staire
Donna Staire, 77, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven amidst a beautiful thumbnail moon and fireworks guiding her way on July 4, 2011. She was born August 8, 1933 in Wilbur, WV to the late Parley and Edna Williams. She graduated from Tyler County High School, and moved to Akron, OH to work at Goodyear, then to B. F. Goodrich. Donna earned her "Bachelors" in Domestic Engineering in 1962, proceeded to gain her "Masters" in 1967, and finally her "Ph.D" in 1968. She was a wonderful wife to Chuck for over 54 years, loving mother to David, Amy, and Lori as well as a devoted grandmother to Zachary, Sara, Kaylie, and granddog Rosie. Donna was always, and will continue, to be the kindest, gentlest, and most caring person many have ever met. Donna loved her garden, and the many harvests it had provided over the years. Her infamous rhubarb pie, strawberry jam and hillbilly pancakes will be sorely missed by all. By the way Mom, what are we suppose to do with all those canning jars?!? She was also "Mother Nature" to the countless birds, squirrels, and chipmunks who visited daily in her backyard paradise. While many of her neighbors may think the roaming herds of squirrels and chipmunks will move on we vow to continue with the ritual feedings! Donna was preceded in death by sisters, Eska Weekley and Pauline King; and brothers, Berlin Williams, Corlis Williams, Wayne Williams, and Elmer Williams. She is survived by her husband Charles Staire; son, David Staire; daughters, Amy Gibson and Lori (Jeff) Dunn; grandchildren, Zachary Durbin, Sara Staire, and Kaylie Gibson; sister, Imogene Lynch; brother, Leo (Mart) Williams; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life party will occur at a later date where eating, drinking, milling and messing will take place. "Boy mom, your ears will certainly be burning that day!" The family requests donations to be made in Donna's memory to VNS Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH, 44333. A special thank you to all the staff, especially Beth, she was mom's favorite; and to all of our wonderful friends and family for all the love and support. We love you!
