Donna Mae Swan

Donna Mae Swan, 84, of Akron, passed away on December 9, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Akron on August 20, 1938, to the late John and Bertha Morrick, she was a graduate of East High School and a member of St. Matthew Parish.
She was retired from Sacks Electric and enjoyed spending holidays with her family and attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and programs. She was known as the "Spielberg" of the family for videotaping many happy occasions and we're forever grateful for the special memories she captured. She never hesitated to say, "I love you" or "be careful" and often stood at the door waving goodbye as family members drove away. It's now our honor to say one last "I love you" and wave our final goodbyes as she enters her heavenly resting place.
Along with her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brother Robert and leaves to cherish her memory, children: Jeralynn (Mike) Cetnarowski of Mogadore; Jeffrey Swan (Rana Manneh) of Tallmadge; Scott (Lisa) Swan of Tallmadge; Derek (Debi) Swan of Akron, grandchildren: Chelsea (Nathan) Hornacek; Stefanie (David) Lloyd; Alicia (Brian) Grubich; Stacie (Jordan) Poth; Lindsey (Jonathan) Cole; Logan, Evan, Kaden, Tyler and Trevor Swan and great-grandchildren, Mason and Maria Lloyd. She is also survived by sisters Millie Conover, Dolly Ostrander and Bonnie Ellis as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, December 18 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2603 Benton Ave. Akron, OH 44312. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Donna's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization she held dear due to the ongoing care received by her grandson, Logan.
