Dontae Antwuan Brooks

Dontae A. Brooks, 40, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on September 5, 2023, in his hometown. Born on February 24, 1983, in Akron, Dontae was a beloved son, brother, father and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dontae had the biggest soul you could come across and always had a smile on his face. He was known for his teasing jokes, wildly entertaining stories, and powerful testimony. Dontae's unfailing work ethic, generous smile, and willingness to help any friend in need made him a cherished member of his community.

Dontae was a Project Manager at Home Renovations, where he excelled in his career. His dedication and attention to detail made him an invaluable asset to the company.

Dontae's passion for learning led him to pursue higher education at Hondros College of Real Estate and the Media School of Cleveland, Ohio. He also attended North High School, where he laid the foundation for his future success.

Dontae is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia Brooks, and his children, Daemon Carden, Davion, Santana, Makai, Ayce, and Kali Brooks. Along with granddaughter Caprice Carden. He is also survived by his sisters, Candie and Ciarra Brooks, and Pauline Burns. Brother, LaShawn Burns. He had many nieces and nephews along with a handful of cousins who loved him dearly. Dontae was preceded in death by his father, Frank Burns. Brothers Franklin Burns Jr., Fitzgerald Burns. Grandmothers Ednah Brooks, Cheryl Brooks.
