Doris Mae Fluharty, age 81 of Stow, Ohio, died on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Alter Care.
She was born on May 9, 1935 in Norton, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Beula Dearth Rish.
Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and friends, especially playing board games. She also liked to dine out.
Survivors include her four children, Deborah (Gregg) Crenshaw, Rebecca (Ralph) Ridenour, James (Karen) Fluharty, and Sharon (Cecil) Pourner; seven grandchildren, Tony, Mick (Amy), Darrel (Ashley), Jen, Rachel, Ilyssa, and CJ; five great-grandchildren, Juan, Zavier, Leah, Zoey, and Luna.
Other than her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Fluharty; her two sisters, Martha George and Imogene Blondheim.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM, where her nephew, Pastor Don George will celebrate her life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summa Health Hospice, 444 North Main St. PO Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398-6153.
