Doris M. (Ross) Manes (nee Walkup). Doris went into the arms of her Heavenly Father on December 4, 2010. Doris was preceded in death by William Walkup, Charles Manes, and daughter, Patricia J. (Walkup) Lane. She leaves behind her daughter, Donna L. Walkup; and son, William Walkup (Rose); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Mary Jones and Crossroads Hospice. A precious one from us is gone. A voice we love is stilled. A place is vacant in our home, which never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled. The boon his love has given. And though the body slumbers here, the soul is safe in heaven. A visitation will take place Wednesday, December 8, from 11 am to 12 noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow immediately at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Stow Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
