Dorothea R. Strebler, 87, of Cincinnati, passed away April 6, 2011. She was born In Salt Lake City, Utah on September 20, 1923 to the late Robert and Helen Burroughs. Dorothea was the former assistant director of Akron Public Libraries and a longtime volunteer at Akron City Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Strebler, Sr.; son, Steven Strebler; and brother, Robert Burroughs. She will be deeply missed by her son, Jerome (Joanne) Strebler, Jr.; brothers, Harry, Gary (Doris), Jack, and Raymond (Marsha) Burroughs; sister, Barbara Williams; grandchildren, David (Ginna) Strebler, Jeffrey (Lisa) Strebler, Lauren Strebler, and Jonathan Sanders; and great-grandson, Dominic Strebler. Family and friends may call TODAY from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Ohio, 7625 Camargo Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45243.
