Dorothy A. (Streby) Thomas, 80 years old, passed away on February 1, 2012, with family by her side. Born in Akron on January 24, 1932, she lived most of her life in Brimfield, spending the last 6 years in Streetsboro with her daughter, Luann. Mom enjoyed couponing before it became so popular and worked on crossword puzzles daily. Mom and Bob enjoyed restoring furniture, feeding the birds and the groundhogs. But most of all, she enjoyed her family. Mom will always be remembered by her sense of humor and her love for flowers. She was a member of Victory Baptist Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Kathryn McDonald; her husband, Robert Thomas; brothers, Bill, Jack and Bud; stepson, Bobby Thomas, stepdaughter, Sherry Golden; and grandson, Donnie Krebs. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Marty (Kathy) Streby, Russell (Dawn Butler) Streby; daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Losh, Luann (Don) Krebs, and JimmyLee (Dan) Foss; stepchildren, Ricky and Vicky Thomas; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Frances Wilson, Betty (Abe) Jabber, Beverly (Billy) Hill; brother, Bob (Leona) McDonald; and sister-in-law, Leora Long. The family wishes to thank the staff at Grace Hospice, especially Patty and Kim; her caregivers, Lindsay Yanock, Cindy Glaze and granddaughter, Stephanie Wilson for their excellent care of our mom. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 5 p.m., at Victory Baptist Temple, 4167 St. Rt. 43 in Brimfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Victory Baptist Temple.
