Dorothy A. Wade, 80, of Akron, passed away January 12, 2010. Dorothy was born in Akron on October 7, 1929. She retired from General Tire and was a member of the Women's Generettes. She was a longtime member of Visitation of Mary Catholic Church (formerly Annunciation), where she belonged to the Ladies Guild. Dorothy will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wade and granddaughter, Nicole Englehart. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Mary McCormick, Diane (Danny) Marino, and Chris (Bill) Englehart; son, Steve Martin; sisters, Sr. Dorothy Mattingly, Jean (Jack) Albright, Eileen (Butch) Hagenbaugh; brothers, Bill (Lynn) Mattingly and Tim (Pam) Mattingly; and grandchildren, Danielle, David, and Dominic Marino, Alecia Englehart, and Cody and Chase Martin. Family and friends may call on Friday from 12-2 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A funeral mass will be Saturday at 12 p.m. at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church (formerly Annunciation), 87 Broad St. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
