Dorothy Butcher, 78, of Akron, passed away December 3, 2008 at Akron City Hospital. She was born January 16, 1930 in Salem, Ohio to the late Blaine & Olive (Kirk) Hardenbergh. Dorothy worked for many years as an Insurance Agent. She is survived by her children and their families: Joan (Victor) Mick, Angela and Samantha; Larry (Bonnie) Butcher, Blaine and Sarah; Sue (Donald Jr.) Moore, Joshua and Eric Ludwig; Elizabeth (John) Knepper, John Luke and Melissa; great-grandson, Camden Joseph Ludwig; and sister, Margaret Hardenbergh. Calling hours will be Saturday from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday with her son-in-law, Rev. John Knepper officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery in Salem OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tallmadge Christian Fellowship Church.
