Dorothy E. Crawford, 99, of Akron, passed away May 22, 2005. She was born June 23, 1905 in Scio, OH to the late Gordon & Mary (Courtney) Russell. Dorothy taught in the Ashland Elementary Schools for 24 years. She went to Florida during the winters for 20 years. Dorothy was a member of the Wedgewood United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Crawford; son, C. Gordon Crawford; 3 sisters; 1 brother. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Koellner; grandchildren, Rebecca (Harold) Stalcup, Donelle Howland; great-grandchildren, Andrew & Sara Howland. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Ashland County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wedgewood United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2350 Wedgewood Dr., Akron, OH 44312.
