Dorothy E. Carroll, 101, of Akron, passed away August 12, 2007 at Wyant Woods Care Center. She was born June 16, 1906 in Akron, Ohio to the late Arthur & Clara (Fridinger) Corbett. Dorothy was a member of Lakemore United Methodist Church for over 75 years. She was a volunteer at Akron City Hospital for over 20 years; a member of Eastern Star, Lakemore; and had previously worked at Alsco Aluminum Products. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Carroll, Sr.; daughters, Lois Barbara Carroll and Margaret Hueston; brothers, Arthur and Carl Corbett; and sister, Helen. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William & Ruth Carroll of Green; grandchildren, Evelyn (Jim) Fiorello, Catherine Carroll, Rebecca McCutcheon and Jeff Hueston; 5 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; dear cousin, Lois Grizer. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Pastor Jeff Gindlesberger officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service begins.
