Today, January 20, 2016, our mother Dorothy H. Gerlach gained her wings, and got her wish to join her husband of 50 years, Roy R. Gerlach Sr. and her grandsons James R. Miller II, and Jeffrey S. Nissly. Mom was born in Mountville, PA on December 20, 1920 to Mary Helen (Fetrow) and John J. Farmer.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Carol (Ralph) Nissly, PA, Elmer (Sharon) Gockley, PA, Sandra (Larry) Latherow, Ravenna, OH, Roy (Robin) Gerlach Jr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Gary (Jane) Gerlach, NC, Kathleen (Fred) Gerlach-Andrews, Akron, OH, and her sister-in-law Alecia Rogers, Rocky River, OH; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be Saturday April 2, 2016 at 1 pm at Freewill Baptist Church, 1802 Eastwood Ave., Akron, OH 44305. Donations may be made in her name to the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
