Dorothy May Kamm

Dorothy May Kamm, 96, of Akron, passed away surrounded by her family on April 5, 2023. She was born on March 17, 1927 in Kenmore, OH to the late Bernice Ebner.

In addition to her mother, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Kamm, their son, James Kamm and their grandson Mark White.

Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Linda (Chuck) White; son, John (Georgia Cope) Kamm; daughter-in-law Teri Kamm; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was a devoted Christian, and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Barberton. She valued her fellowship with her congregation, but her favorite memories were with her family. Dorothy loved watching the generations grow, and was loved by everyone, family, friends and caretakers alike.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment to follow the services at Lakewood Cemetery, where Dorothy will be laid to rest with her husband, John.
