Dorothy L. Kent

Dorothy L. Kent, 88, passed away December 8, 2004. Dorothy was employed as a pastry cook at Edwin Shaw Hospital for over 30 years. She was very committed to her family, including her church family. She belonged to several parishes over the years, including St. Peter of the Fields, Little Flower Church, and Annunciation Catholic Church. She was always a tireless worker and cheerful volunteer for church activities. She was preceded in death by her paretns, Henry and Lena Roberts; five husbands, Gus Meyer, George Brubaker, George Potts, John Maydak, and Fielding Kent; and six brothers, James, Charles, Albert, Raymond, Francis, and Glen. She is survived by her children, Joy (Paul) Montgomery and Gus Meyer; sister, Catherine (Tom) Bennett; grandchildren, Kate, Bill, Steve, Rusty, Gus Jr., Anne, Judy, Chris, Anne, Wes, Rob, and Phil; twenty-three great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 87 Broad St. with prayers at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
